You’ve probably been in leadership long enough to know that
most communication trainings do not stick.
You might have enjoyed Crucial Conversations training, then found it too complicated to apply under pressure. You may have attended a retreat where everyone felt hopeful on Friday, yet the same dysfunctional dynamics resurfaced by Tuesday. That’s what I call drama-filled leadership, and it’s frustrating, exhausting, and can even be dangerous when it compromises patient care.
Why does this keep happening?Â
It’s because most programs skip or gloss over the survival response that activates before you have said a single word. The one that makes you lash out when you mean to stay calm, or stay silent when you want to speak, or be agreeable when everything in you wants to be bold.
The concepts I teach inside the Drama-Free Leadership Starter Kit work because they address what drives interpersonal drama, concretely and in the order that drama actually happens. Most other programs, (especially programs for healthcare leaders), are too complicated and they skip the first three fundamentals of drama-free communication. That is why the skills they teach do not stick.
When you apply what you learn in the
Drama-Free Leadership Starter Kit, you can:
- Understand what is driving persistent conflict or difficult team dynamics, so you can address the real issues and return your team's focus to delivering and supporting high-quality, safe, patient-centered care
- Reduce tension and reach collaborative decisions with colleagues, even when the stakes are high and timing is critical
- Lead in a way that gets results, without being derailed by self-doubt or someone else's negative reaction
Why It's Free
You might be wondering, "What's the catch?"
There isn't one. Really.
I created this starter kit to give my leadership coaching clients a deep grounding in core concepts, so they can make more progress and get more value from their very first coaching session with me.Â
It occurred to me that the starter kit would also be a valuable resource for senior leaders and clinicians who want to get a sense of my point of view before deciding whether to work together. And since I want to work with people who are seeking the depth that I offer, I’m happy to provide the starter kit for free, so you can gain knowledge and also see if my approach to drama-free leadership might be a fit for you.
If you are a senior healthcare leader or clinician who is ready to understand what is actually driving the drama on your team and what to do about it, the Drama-Free Leadership Starter Kit is a great place to start.
Greetings,
Thanks for stopping by. I’m so proud of this Drama-Free Leadership Starter Kit. It’s gotten rave reviews ever since I launched it.Â
I hope you’ll enjoy it.
To your thriving,
Dr. Annie
P.S. You’ll also be added to my Drama-Free Leadership email list where, about once a month, you’ll get a value-packed email with an overview of that month’s episode of the Drama-Free Teams podcast and updates on other events and programs.
What Healthcare Leaders Are Saying About Dr. Annie's Guidance
"I'm now able to remain patient and lead when an employee is reactive, and stay grounded in high-pressure meetings, even when I feel rushed or don't have all the answers."
Jenny, Senior Director
Academic Health System in Northeastern US
"I have a strong sense of hope that I can be successful in moderating my emotions in the short term and become a stronger leader for the long term."Â
Spencer, Operations Director
(later promoted to VP)
Level II Trauma Center in Western US
"I realized you don't have to change your personality in order to change the impact of your communication. The same person and the same words can feel completely different once we resolve that survival response."
